Many vineyards and wine brands are family run, which can mean varying levels of active involvement in the vineyard. At Nutbourne the family is very much a part of the brand and seems to be actually working the soil. It feels less corporate than many of the other vineyards close to London.
Recommended itinerary:
- 8:30 am, Train from London Victoria to Pulborough Station (1hr 17mins)
- 10:00 am, Taxi from London to Pulborough (10mins)
- 10:30 am, Vineyard Tour and Tasting (3hrs) £35. Book here.
- 02:00 pm, picnic or platter overlooking the vineyard, £19 onwards. Book here.
- 5:00 pm, taxi back to the station
Things to know:
- Don’t worry about the weather. If the weather is rubbish you can have your wine and cheese platter indoors. Definitely pre-book your platter, here.
- The platters can be tailored to your price range. They can range from £19 to £36 per person.
- Rebooking taxis is highly recommended. You’ll be out in the sticks without access to Ubers.
